En condiciones normales, se necesitan de 15 a 25 días hábiles. Esto incluye: transferencia de documentos nacionales (3-5 días), solicitud de licencia de exportación (3-5 días), transporte terrestre al puerto (2-5 días), inspección aduanera y espera para la carga (5-10 días). No confíes en promesas engañosas de "carga en una semana" de otros canales.
Es imprescindible contratar un seguro de carga (todo riesgo o seguro contra daños por agua). En caso de daños, reclame a la compañía de seguros con el conocimiento de embarque, la póliza de seguro y el certificado de daños en el puerto de destino.
