I acquired a Tourneo converted into a pop-top campervan, registered in May 2018. It has all the necessary RV paperwork and no scrapping deadline. It features a 6-speed automatic transmission, a 2.0T gasoline engine, and fully equipped pop-top bunk beds. The odometer reads 60,000 kilometers and the original paint is in its original condition. We thoroughly rule them out by checking if the cabin wiring harness is melted, if the seat belts have water stains or mold, if there is unusual rust or debris in the seat tracks and cigarette lighter, and by verifying with the insurance company for any "total loss claims." These two types of cars are an absolute sales ban for us.
Yes. The inspection report includes a specific "consumable parts consumption list." We will measure the tire tread depth (in millimeters) and the remaining brake pad thickness using calipers. If the tire tread is below the legal wear limit of 1.6mm, we will note it as "recommended to replace immediately upon arrival."
We cannot open each tire to inspect the inside. However, if a visual inspection reveals severe creases on the tire sidewall, it indicates that the run-flat tire has been driven for a long time at zero pressure, damaging its internal structure. We would recommend replacing it before shipping.
