Starting at 169,900, luxury pickups are no longer out of reach

Industry News

Nissan's global pickup family makes its world debut in China with the Frontier Pro series. Offered in nine variants and three powertrains—2.0 L gasoline, 2.3 L diesel and 1.5 L plug-in hybrid—the truck carries a recommended retail price of 169,900–249,900 RMB. Built for every scenario, it resets the value benchmark for mid-size pickups, blending rugged capability with refined sophistication on every journey.

The Chinese name Feng (锋) represents the spearhead of progress and the courage to shape the future, while Tan (坦) symbolizes the shield of protection and the confidence of a triumphant return. The Frontier Pro Pickup takes the Nissan Frontier legacy further — more advanced, more capable, and more refined. Specifically, the Frontier Pro is positioned as an international ultra-luxury smart pickup, while the Frontier Pro PHEV is the world’s first ultra-luxury plug-in hybrid pickup.

Frontier Pro

With its four core pillars—design, comfort, safety, and performance—the Frontier Pro Pickup smashes every cliché attached to the word “truck”.

Design redefined

Vertical LED lamps and a floating laser-etched badge extend the V-Motion face into a bold, tech-forward statement, proving that a workhorse can also turn heads.

Comfort, elevated

Rear doors open a full 90°, backrests adjust through three positions, and a French JLR audio system turns the cabin into a “mobile first-class suite.” A 14.6-inch centre screen and Level-2 driver-assistance tech close the intelligence gap with premium SUVs.

Safety, hardened

More than 70 % of the body is high-strength steel, while the PHEV’s four-layer battery protection—predict, prevent, contain, vent—earns a C-NCAP five-star rating and sets a new benchmark for electrified pickups.

Performance, unleashed

The diesel churns out 500 N⋅m and will idle up a 100 % grade, yet returns 8.1 L/100 km—proof that toughness doesn’t have to be thirsty. The plug-in hybrid adds a 6 kW on-board outlet, so camping hot-pots, drone re-charges and job-site tools all run off the truck.

In short, Frontier Pro doesn’t just challenge the pickup rulebook—it rewrites it.
