The inspector said the original owner drove the car very economically, rarely taking it on long trips except for daily commuting, and had always maintained it on time. There were no obvious signs of wear and tear, and the car's condition was quite good. The Elantra, a perennial favorite in the Chinese automotive market, has become a classic family car model with widespread recognition and is also a very active model in the used car market. The owner said the Elantra was the second Hyundai model introduced to China, the first being the Sonata, one of the "new three" family sedans in the country. The other two were the Buick Excelle and the Citroën Elysee. It consistently ranked first in annual sales in China for many years. Back then, we bought this car because of the Elantra's large market share, stable quality, and durability.
The "usage type" section on the vehicle registration certificate has legal validity. Any vehicle that changes from "commercial" to "non-commercial" has a usage intensity far exceeding that of personal vehicles, and we will label these prominently. Such vehicles are usually cheaper but have more severe mechanical wear.
We will check if the vehicle identification number (VIN) is within the official recall batch. If there are any outstanding safety recalls (such as replacing Takata airbags), we will require the original owner to assist in sending it to an official 4S shop to complete the free recall work before the vehicle is deregistered.
